A romantic at heart. Meet Firi Kamson @tmkamson #Authorchat #Giveaway

Happy Monday, sweeties. Today I welcome a new author on the block Firi Kamson onto my sofa. Some of you might know her as +Tamunoibifiri Mobolaji-Kamson

Check out my interview with her. She's also running a giveaway as part of her book tour.

Q1) Welcome to my blog, Firi. Can you tell us a little about yourself
A romantic at heart, aspiring New York best selling author, aspiring commercial pilot, video game creator wannabe and a lover of everything coca cola.

Q2) Go you! Have you always wanted to be an author?
Yes I have. Always loved writing, but didn’t summon up the courage to be a fulltime time writer until much later in life.

Q3) Fantastic. So who are some of your favorite writers? Who do you feel has influenced your writing?
Well a lot of writers have influenced my writing but I would mention a few: Penny Jordan of Mills and Boons in the Mills and Boons era.

Johanna Lindsey, Catherine Coulter my favorites when it comes to historical romance

Sandra Brown, Sydney Sheldon (what I call my hard read era).

Sade Adeniran author of Imagine This, loved this novel

Kiru Taye who introduced me to erotic romance with an African theme.

Q4) Thank you very much. Can you tell us what a typical writing day for you is like.
I just started a challenge where I write at least a thousand words everyday. Before then I always wrote when I was inspired to write and whenever I had a deadline.

Q5) Let’s talk about your new book. Can you tell us a little about it?
Ere’s Secret is a story about a woman who finds love and her journey. I have always resented the fact that society subjected women to certain laws which men were exempted from, like remarrying as a widow to name a few. In Ere’s Secret we get to understand the huddles Ere’s goes through in search of fulfillment, happiness and love.

Q6) How did you come up with the idea for this story?
Like how I come up with all my other stories, just before I go to bed or as soon as I wake up from bed, so I always sleep with a bedside note pad and a pen. Now with smart phones, I have my iPhone around which comes in handy.

Q7) What is up next for you?
223 Bonny Street, is my next work coming out soon, so watch this space. This work is very dear to me as it is inspired by my mother’s family house in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, which is located at 223 Bonny Street, hence, the title. The book brings to light a lot of history and off course romance.

Q8) What is the best piece of advice you would give to a budding writer?
Never give up, never stop writing and look for a writer who can mentor you.

Q9) What is the next book on your To Read Pile that you are dying to jump into?
Funny you should ask I just got the book Divergent by Veronica Roth and I must say I finished that within a day and I loved it. So I am dying to read Insurgent the next book in the divergent series

Q10) Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just keep on working, hard work pays off eventually.
