Meet Dee Little #BookBlogger + #Giveaway

Happy Monday, readers! Today I'm pretty chuffed to have my guest here with me. I met Dee Little online a few months ago. She is a book blogger, an aspiring writer and is gradually becoming a good friend. Next time I'm in the North of England I'll be paying her a visit. Please give her a warm welcome.

Since I have a new book, Secrets, out, I'm going to give away a copy to one lucky person that leaves a comment. You can check out Dee's fabulous review of Secrets here.

So make sure you leave her a comment. I'll pick a winner at the end of the week and announce it on Monday.

Q1) Welcome to my blog, Dee. Please tell us a little about yourself

Of course. I'm Dee, I'm 27 and have 2 children with autism. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, with my kids and partner of 8 ½ years. I love to read and always have a book on the go. I also love to write and hopefully one day soon I can join all you fab authors in having a book published!

Q2) I should take a road trip to Newcastle soon. It'll be great to see your books published. J Have you always wanted to be an author?

Always. Ever since  I was little I wrote stories involving princes and princesses, and now I'm still writing, just my stories are growing more now.

Q3) Great. So who are some of your favorite writers? Who do you feel has influenced your writing?

I have lots of favorite writers. Jodi Picoult is a massive influence on me. Her writing style is so unique, and I find she pulls you right into her stories so easily, but they grip you so tight, all the way to the end. There are a few authors I have met recently, like you, Doris O'Connor, Raven McAllan, who have totally influenced my writing. They have all shown me that I can do it!

Q4) Of course you can! J What is a typical writing day for you is like.

Honestly I don't have a typical writing day! I write when I can and when I have time. Sometimes I have plenty o f time but sit down to write, and my mind goes blank. But I try, and if I don't get any writing done for  few days, it' not the end of the world.

Q5) Let’s talk about your book. Can you tell us a little about it?

Well since I'm still unpublished I can tell you about my latest WIP. It doesn't have a title yet, but it's about a shifter getting revenge, a revenge that has waited a long long time.

Q6) Oooh. I'd love to read this. How did you come up with the idea for this story?

I took part in Siobhan Muir's Thurs Threads on hr blog 'The Wierd, The Wild and The Wicked'. I followed the story on for the next Thurs Threads, and decided I liked what I'd written. So now this is my WIP :)

Q7) What is up next for you?

Up next will be my other shifter novel. It's called When Nature Calls, and is about a wolf shifter who finds his mate, but there are complications (as always). You'll have to wait a little longer for more details :)

Q8) Don't keep us waiting too long, though. Get writing. J Since you started writing what is the best piece of advice you would give to a budding writer?

Keep writing. If you get writers block, try to read instead. I find this helps with little ideas etc, and pushes the block to one side after a while. But don't give up. And if anyone tells you that you cant do it, plug some headphones in so you can't hear them, and rock out to some Bon Jovi! :)

Q9) What is the next book on your To Read Pile that you are dying to jump into?

I have recently bought Tarnished by Julia Crouch which I'm dying to read. I absolutely loved Cuckoo, so I'm sure this one will be good too.

Q10) Is there anything else you would like to add?

Yeah, come check out my blog people! I have tons of book reviews, authors, competitions, giveaways and I also post my writing there.

Favorite city: Oh it has to be my hometown Newcastle :)

Favorite beverage: Hot? A lovely milky coffee. Cold? Pepsi Max :)
